Graduation Cake Pop Tags

Looking for fun homemade graduation gifts ideas or yummy treats to make for your graduation party? These graduation cake pop with graduation cake pop tags are perfect!  If you've never made (or more importantly eaten) cake pops before, then you are missing out.  Cake pops are yummy, fun, and creative.  Here's our cake pop recipe:

Cake Pops and Balls

1 box chocolate cake mix (or cake mix of your choice)
1 can cream cheese frosting
Candy melt the color of your choice
Sucker sticks

Make cake according to package directions.  Let cake cool.  Mash the cake with ¾ can of
frosting.  Roll the dough into balls and refrigerate  for a couple of hours (you can freeze them but never for more than 15 minutes).  Melt the candy melt according to package directions.  Add shortening  and melt with the candy to make a good dipping consistency.  I usually add a couple of tablespoons.  Dip the end of each stick in the candy melt and let sit in freezer for 10 minutes.  Push the stick up halfway through the  cake ball and dip cake ball in melted candy melt.   Set the balls on wax paper so that the bottoms flatten.  Enjoy!!!

Now for these special graduation cake pop with tags, just print of the graduation cake pop tag below!

In a time pinch, you can also dip doughnut holes.  They are pretty yummy too!

Congratulations, graduates!

Graduation poem

Graduation Poem

Ever since you were born, we've imagined the day
when you'd finally grow up and go find your own way
We cried the first time that you boarded the bus
Mom counted the minutes 'til you came home to us
We cheered at your games, your recitals, your shows--
rolled our eyes at your comments, expressions and clothes
Now 18 years later we wish time would wait
As we sit back in wonder that you turned out so great!

Congratulations, Graduate!

Homemade Tomato Soup Recipe

Homemade Tomato Soup

1 can (15 oz.) stewed tomatoes (or you can use four fresh tomatoes)
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (11 oz.) tomato soup
1 can water (add 2 cans for thinner soup)
1 cup cream
1/2 cup butter or one square
1 Tbsp. basil leaves (fresh or dried)

Blend stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and tomato soup in a blender. Pour mixture into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Add cream, butter and basil. Heat through, but be sure to NOT let it boil. Serve with homemade grilled cheese sandwiches. We made our sandwiches with delicious homemade wholewheat bread! Light and Fluffy Whole Wheat Bread

If you like a light and fluffy whole wheat recipe, you will
love this version. To make the bread heartier you can add
oatmeal, flax seed and nuts. If you do add these extras
don't add as much flour. This bread is so yummy. It
never lasts long at our house!

Light and Fluffy Whole Wheat Bread

3 cups warm water
2 tbsp. Yeast
1/3 cup honey or 1/3 cup agave
5 cups flour

In a large bread bowl, sprinkle yeast over warm water. Sprinkle 1 tbsp. sugar over yeast.  Add 1/3 cup honey (or agave) and 5 cups of flour. Mix until blended. Cover with a dish towel and let sit until big and bubbly for about 30 minutes.

3 tbsp. dough enhancer (optional)
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1/3 cup honey or agave
1 tbsp. salt
3 ½ cups whole wheat flour
2 tbsp. butter, melted

Add dough enhancer (optional), 3 tbsp. melted butter, salt, 1/3 cup honey and flour one cup at a time. Add flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. If you add too much flour your dough will be too stiff. Knead for 10 minutes. Transfer dough to a buttered bowl. Butter dough so that with 2 tbsp. melted butter so
it does not dry out. Cover dough and let rise until triple in bulk in a warm place.

Punch dough down and divide into 3 balls. Form balls into loaves of bread and place in greased 9x5 inch loaf pans. Cover pans with a cloth and let rise in a warm place until 1” above pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not over bake. Brush the tops of the bread with butter, remove from pans and let cool. Fresh bread right out of the oven is hard to resist.
