Edible Play Dough Recipes

Sweetened Condensed Milk Play Dough
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 1/4 cup powdered milk
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp. glycerine (You can buy Wilson Glycerine in the baking department at a craft store or Walmart). This keeps the dough from drying out. If you don't have glycerine you can use oil, but it isn't quite as good.
Food Coloring

Whisk the powdered sugar and powdered milk together. Stir in Sweetened Condensed Milk, keep on mixing  and kneading until the dough is smooth. Make a well with your dough and add the glycerine. Mix well. You can add more dried milk to get your desired consistency. Divide your dough into six (or more) balls and mix in food coloring.

Rice Krispie Birds Nests

Rice Krispie Birds Nests

3/4 cup butter
3 10 ounce bag marshmallows (put 4 cups aside!)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 teaspoon coarse salt
11 cups Rice Krispies

1. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray or grease all sides with butter.
2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Slowly brown butter while stirring. It will foam and then turn a rich dark brown.
3. Turn off stove and add marshmallows (except the 4 cups you set aside) and vanilla. You may see brown flecks while you are mixing and that is ok. Stir until marshmallows are fully melted.
4. Take off the heat and add the Rice Krispies, 4 cups of reserved marshmallows and coarse salt. Mix until rice krispies are evenly coated. Dump Rice Krispies into your prepared pan and spread evenly. Spray your hand with cooking spray before you press so Rice Krispies don't stick to you!

MAKING THE NESTS:
While the Rice Krispie mixture is still warm scoop each kid about a cup of  the mixture on a piece of parchment paper. Spray your kids hands with cooking spray.  Your kids will love making these nests. When kids have finished they can add candy eggs, jelly beans, malt balls or any oval candy to their nests.
