Halloween Spooky Eye's Surprise
Dinner was delicious, but what everyone one had their eyes on the whole time was dessert! These eyeball cakepops are a spooky spin on a classic favorite--RECIPE BELOW!
If you've never made cake pops before, then now is the time to start! They are fun, they are easy, and they are SO incredibly tasty--they're always an eye-popping success!
Eyeball Cake Pops
1 box chocolate cake mix (or cake mix of your choice)
1 can cream cheese frosting
White, orange and green candy melt
Frosting gel pen (found in your grocery store or craft store)
Junior mints
Sucker sticks
Make cake according to package directions. Let cake cool. Mash the cake with ¾ can of
frosting. Roll the dough into balls and refrigerate for a couple of hours (you can freeze them but never for more than 15 minutes). Melt the candy melt according to package directions. Dip the end of each stick in the candy melt and let sit in freezer for 10 minutes. Push the stick up halfway through the cake ball and dip cake ball in melted candy melt. Stick the pops into a jar filled with rice to set. After you have dipped all the pops, decorate them. Put melted candy melt in a squeeze bottle to make the lines on the eyeballs. Stick a junior mint in the center of the eyeball. Fill the rest of the rice filled jar with colored candies. Enjoy!!!
My little granddaughters thought the eyeball cakepops were so yummy, and my 1 year old grandson wouldn't stop reaching for them once he'd gotten his first bite--they are truly to deye for :-)
Just to sweeten up the night even more, I made these fun eyeball goody bags--my grandchildren couldn't stop giggling every time they peered over the top of this bowel to see all of the treats staring right back at them!
You can pass these out at your party too--just download the pattern for them here. When they see all of your fun ideas, the guests at your next party won't believe their eyes!
