German Chocolate Brownies

1 cup unsalted butter
3 1/2 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips

Melt and the butter and the semi sweet chocolate chips together. Cool.  Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt together.  Add vanilla to the cooled butter mixture.  Stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture.  Spread batter in a greased 9x13 inch pan.  Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of batter.  Bake in a 350 degree oven at 20 minutes.  Let cool a few minutes and then spread frosting on top of brownie.

German Chocolate Frosting (the best part)

1 cup evaporated milk
3 egg yolks
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups coconut
1 cup pecans, chopped

Combine milk, egg yolks and sugar in a heavy saucepan.  Whisk till blended.  Add butter.  Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens.  Add vanilla, coconut and pecans.  Let cool a few minutes and then spread onto brownies.
