From Dan's Kitchen

Making The Ribs

1. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F.

2. Wash the ribs with water and pat them dry with paper towels.

3. Remove the membrane on the curved side (use a knife to get it started, then you can just use your fingers).

4. Apply your dry rub (not too much), if desired (I have used Famous Dave's or Montreal Steak Seasoning).

5. Place ribs on the broiler rack with water in the lower part, curved side down.

6. Cover the ribs with tin foil by wrapping it around the edges of the broiler rack (get the best seal you can).

7. Bake ribs in oven for 4 1/2 to 5 hours (I lean closer to 5).

8. Apply sauce liberally with basting brush (I use roughly half Wingers sauce* and half KC Masterpiece Hickory BBQ sauce, maybe a bit more of the Wingers sauce).

9. Grill the ribs on low to med heat (try to keep it 200-250 deg) for about 5-10 min on each side, caramelizing the sauce on the ribs.

10. Reapply sauce to taste (I like mine sloppy).

*To make Wingers sauce from 'scratch', use Franks Red Hot Sauce and it mix it equal parts with brown sugar.

Christopher's Ribs

Posted by Parties and Patterns on 7:57 PM in christopher's creations, main meal, meats,

We made these delicious, easy ribs for a family BBQ a couple weeks ago and they are amazing! The best thing about these ribs is that you don't have to worry about bones--which eliminates all of the mess!

Barbecue Ribs

Put Beef or Pork country style ribs in a crock pot. Cover ribs with your favorite barbecue sauce and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until tender.

Alternate method:  Place ribs in a pot with 1/2 BBQ (we use Sweet Baby Ray's) to 1/2 water ratio and boil for 1-3 hours or until tender.

Turn grill on high and cover with aluminum foil.  Coat ribs with more BBQ sauce and cook on grill 5 minutes per each side.

Drizzle BBQ sauce on top of ribs.

These ribs are so delicious and tender--they're sure to be a hit!

Pressure Cooker Ribs

Pressure Cooker Ribs

Posted by Parties and Patterns on 9:15 PM in ana's corner, main meal, meats,

So for Mother's Day this year I got a pressure cooker, and I only have one thing to say: how did I ever cook without one?! It makes cooking ANYTHING so fast, so easy, and so delicious.  Pressure cookers can cook roasts in an hour, ribs, in 35 minutes, chicken in four minutes.  FOUR MINUTES! I'm sold.  And I'm going to try to sell you too...but only because I know you're going to love it :-)  These ribs were fall-off-the-bone-tender one hour after the time I cut through the plastic packaging.  Pretty impressive!

 Pressure Cooker Ribs

--one rack of ribs (I bought pork ribs...it was just over 3 pounds)

--seasonings (I used salt/pepper/onion powder/garlic powder/paprika...you could use whatever you want)

--one can of coke (you could use water, broth, one recipe I read called for beer)

--your favorite BBQ sauce (I like Sweet Baby Ray's)

Cut the ribs into serving sizes (I cut every two-three bones).

Season the ribs as desired (I mixed a couple dashes of all the seasonings above and rubbed them on).

Heat oil in bottom of pressure cooker.  Sear ribs on all sides.

Insert rack in bottom of cooker.  Place ribs on top. Pour Coke over ribs.  Seal top on pressure cooker and turn heat to high until the knob starts to shake.  Reduce heat to medium heat and continue to cook for 35 minutes.  Allow the cooker to release pressure naturally, then open and drain liquid.  Coat with your favorite sauce over low heat and serve!  The ribs fell right off of the bone--leaving absolutely nothing there!
